AFS HALLOWEEN PARTY
October 29, 2005

Bob Barr hosted a Halloween party at his home the Saturday before Halloween Night for all the AFSers.  The costumes ranged from ravishingly beautiful to downright scary.  A Jack-o-Lantern (pumpkin) decorating contest was also held. Many of us are still dazzled by the intricate design and we want to know the students' magical secrets.  Bob's house has an airport runway (Polly Ranch Airport) between his back yard and the back yard of his neighbor.  Most of his neighbors have hangers which house their own airplanes.  They just land their plane on the runway and taxi over to their back yard to tie it down!  Bob lives in Friendswood, and many astronauts live in the neighborhood.  The commander of the International Space Station lives down the street from him!  Now enjoy the images.....

Assembling for a group picture.  A few arrived after this, but we have them in other images below.

"M" stands for Mim

A Nordic Raider tried to crash the party, but we had enough spooky creatures to scare him off.

Cowgirl and Indian

John Baluchi even showed up for the party.

More cool costumes

The masked man is nobody less than ZORRO!

yes...very, very Wicked

Can you believe this one did not win?  All the Jack-o-Lanterns were excellent.

Queen Foil

I told you this thing got scary, didn't I?

Sara, Foil's host mom (or is it big sister?) was an AFS student to Spain years ago.

A few cool dudes.

Chalat ("Joe") came down from College Station.  Several of the students demonstrated their piano talents.

Pear was looking great.

Remember Yuji?  Well, this was his last gasp for breath.  Poor Yuji...he was a nice guy.

Flor was the cowgirl from Costa Rica.

Later in the night people played cards.

Thanks, Bob, for having this great party!
