AFS OCTOBER CAMPOUT
October 7-9 Weekend
Updated October 11, 2005

Our campout was a hoot!  Blessed with great weather (Friday morning the first real cold front of the season blew through), we had a wonderful time at Stephen F. Austin State Park.  Peggy Schmitt coordinated the food and did a wonderful job!  Many parents helped with transporting students who were looking for a ride.  The drivers were very well appreciated.  We took several hikes to the Brazos River, stayed up late and talked, played, and discussed our recent experiences.  At night we toasted marshmallows over the charcoal and had "smores".  We wished all of the AFS students would have been able to come.   Saturday night skies were full of stars, after the cold front.  Sunday morning was downright cold, but we enjoyed it.
